The vidoe about the Advent Conspiracy is really excellent. It would be good for everyone in our congregation to spend 2 1/2 minutes watching it. Some of the suggestions our family has followed for many years. This is the time to give -- not just to your family members but to others.
This year I thought and thought about what I could give my grandchildren (ages 10--13)that they didn't already have or that their parents couldn't afford to give them. I could think of nothing. So I finally decided I would give them a sheep from Heifer Project International that will go to a family some where in the Developing World. I feel this is money well spent to help them begin to learn to give to others. We started that in our family when our children were young teen-agers. We started making their own birthdays more important and just give to others in need at Christmas time. We have found that much more exciting.
